Bad river call? I guess we need to call some rivers, but i guess we will have enough Ax here.
So anyway, how does the math for a river call work here. we need to be best 1/5.5 = 18% of the time. And since we are calling most often for a chop (if he doesnīt have a PP maybe) we need to divide by 2? and so he needs to have a chop ~10% of the time. Is that right?
2/4 Limit Holdem
6 players
Pre-flop: (1.5 SB, 6 players) Hero is CO 2 folds, Hero raises, 1 fold, SB calls, 1 fold
I'm always calling this river. He can easily be bluffing here, or even valuebetting a worse pair. I pretty much never fold a pair after I check behind the turn.
Yes, you need to be good 18%. And if you know for certain you have a chop a best, then you need to be good more often. But you will scoop here often enough. Maybe make it 15%.
But you have 2nd pair after you make a value check. Why complicate such an easy decision? LHE is not a game where you make expert laydowns.
Oh, now I see it should actually be closer to 30% since itīs often a chop.
And to answer your question Willem. I donīt think this is so marginal. Not so many river bluffs makes it through this flop. And if we fold our worst kings here I donīt think itīs like we get a huge target on our backs. I think the fact that we chop with any K makes a difference. However I get what you are saying and it is important to see a lot of showdowns!
