I'm finishing up the $50 eCheck bonus at Stars, and will be looking for something new in a few weeks.
How easily does the Cake signup bonus clear at $25 NLHE and $25 PLO? Is it possible to clear the whole thing in the alloted time at these limits? I play about 10-15 hours a week.
Also, how are the games at these levels? (Quantity and quality) |

It would take about 750 hours to clear $500 at $25 NL (full ring).
I usually see one table of $25 PLO running in the evenings, but not always. The game is quite soft, but I do not think you could clear the whole thing at that table in 90 days.

When you guys talk about $25NLHE and PLO, ar you talking about the blinds or the Buyin?
I always thought in terms of SB/BB, so this confuse my "old" brain |

When speaking of NL or PL, people generally talk in terms of buyin because that is the "stakes" at risk. At limit, the buyin doesn't matter because you are limited to 12BB's as a max (in most situations) so people talk in terms of Big blinds. |

FWIW, the Deposit Bonus clears much quicker than I thought it would at $20NL 6-max...
I had an ITHer swap me some $$$ on Cake so I could at least play $20NL 6-max cash games with rakeback. I figured I'd wait until I got a feel for the site, made some profit, then I'd do a $500 deposit to play at higher limits to clear the bonus at a decent rate
So far, I've accumulated 351 FPPs over 711 dealt hands at $20NL 6-max. This was done two-tabling, so it was about 4 hours of playing time.
If I understand the bonus terms correctly (Bull, could you confirm I'm understanding them?), you clear $0.06 of bonus for every FPP. So, I would have cleared about $21 of bonus, which is about $5/hr. So, you'd have to play about 100 hours over 90 days...which is fairly doable.

Thanks Bull and MX.
SO basically, a $25NL would be a game of how many BB?
All the site I play basically show the eables as $0.25/$0.50, or $1/$2.
Is the rule of 30XBB used to determined the buy in (or something similar)?
Thanks again for improving my knowledge |

| Blind structure varies. Typically .10/.25 or .10/.20 |

I recently cleared two stacked reloads I had at Cake and tried PLO (.05/.10 and .10/.20) there for the first time. Let's just say some of the players there were throwing money away.
Another good reason to play the PLO tables is that the pots are larger than an NLHE table of the same stakes. I didn't keep real good track of how quick I was earning my bonus, but I think the full signup bonus could be earned over 90 days.
There's almost always some shorthanded PLO games going on. Full ring is a little rarer, but usually present most of the time. |

On the no-limit and pot-limit games on most sites (example - PokerStars), the minimum buyin is 20X the big blind, and the maximum is 100X the big blind. So on a game with a 1/2 blind structure, the min buy in is $40, the max is $200.
So 1/2 NLHE and $200 NLHE are the same thing.
I think Absolute allows 200X big blind max buy in, but who plays there anymore....
edit - BTW, I think I'm going to put the Cake thing on hold for a while - the Eurolinx deal is too good to pass up. |
