4 players, I have 3000 in the SB, BB has 1600. Blinds are 80/160. One guy has 5k, another has about the same size as me...3000.

Folds around to me. I have Ace of Clubs 4 of Clubs . I max it.

BB thinks, then calls with King of Diamonds 3 of Hearts . He of course hits trip 3's.

Confirm that he made a donk call, and I made a good raise.

Define "maxed it." I hope you didn't go all-in here as that wouldn't have been wise. You have the bb covered, but both of you have enough left that there is no reason to go crazy with either hand here.

Shove is 100% standard BvB with hero's hand, and completely unexploitable (villain cannot choose a range to call with that will prevent hero's shove from being +$EV). Also, hero's shove is +$EV enough for every villain range, that it would take an extremely exploitable villain for something other than a shove to really be better.

Villain's call is wrong, given that the stack setup is correct, for any range hero shoves.

Maxed it = shove. BB had slightly less than 10X BB, and I think the bet was correct. His call was atrocious in my mind, ATROCIOUS, especially since this wasn't a turbo and we had worked our collective asses off for an hour to get to this point. Why risk it on trash? Could he honestly believe he was ahead, or even NOT dominated? f*** that guy.

Also, I managed to work my way back to contention, and ended up losing when I had the King of Clubs on a 4 club board, and my opponent held the Ace of Clubs . I'm not sure how much of my ominous feeling had to do with paranoia, but I thought he had it too. Unbelievable.
