AQo, 6th hand in the SnG, blinds 5/10, starting stack 1000, 9 players left and I'm in the cut off. UTG+1 raises to 35, 3 calls and then it's my turn. Only button and blinds remain behind me.
At this stage 35 seems so low. I know it's 3,5 BB, so it is a significant raise, but at these micro limits they don't see 3,5 BB; they see t35 and their t1000 stack.
I am reading Collin's book atm and his default advice is to fold it. It's pretty hard for me to do, but I did. What would you have done and why?
lately I've unconsciously loosened up a bit in the early stages and my results have suffered. There's a reason why every piece of literature on SnGs ever written advocates very tight play in the early stages. It's hard to throw away AQ, but when it's this early and the pots are small, and there is a raise in front, stick to the "tight is right" philosophy and dump it.
Not with the raise in front. You're not getting the right pot odds or good enough implied odds with shallow stacks to justify calling a raise w/ TT or 99 here.
