We've made a number of changes to the league structure, see the rules and prizes sections of the league pages. Most notably, there will now be two leagues, one weeknight and one weekend, and the monthly winners in each league will face each other in a HU match to determine the overall monthly winner. The point system has also changed slightly, and we've backdated the scoring as it doesn't change any previous winners.

For April, the weeknight league will run Thursdays at 10PM and the weekend league will run Sundays at 2PM. That will unfortunately lead to one event running on Easter Sunday, hopefully it won't be too inaccessible. The league calendar has the first two events for the month already scheduled, the rest of the month will be setup shortly.

I guess there won't be many Euro players in the weekday events.

I will try to play on the weekend events where possible though.

It's OK to play in both, right?

I'm going to play in whatever events I can this month, between Easter and going to California I'll probably miss two Sunday's but should make most of the weeknights. This Thursday is my mom's birthday so I might not be able to, though.

Yes, it is, though the way it's setup the best chance of winning comes from playing all the events in a given league in one month. Based on the feedback we got about scheduling, I don't expect many people to play both leagues full-time, but we can re-evaluate after April if it seems especially lopsided.

I personally think it's unfair. Americans will start at 10PM, whilst europeans will have to wait till 2-3 in the morning to play.

OTOH, you get to play the Sunday events in the early evening hours while we Americans have to give up our Sunday afternoons, pretty much shooting down any normal weekend outings, if we want to play.

The reason it's setup this way is that many of the American players were finding it difficult to play on a weekend afternoon. I'm hopeful that with the two times selected that we can have as many people as possible able to play one of the leagues for a full schedule.

Anyone willing to invest the time is of course welcome to play both leagues, but do note that, beyond the relatively small chance of winning both leagues in a given month, there's no real prize-advantage to playing both.

If you just want to join in dish dirt, that is, of course, encouraged. Wink
