In PT
File / Auto Import Hand Histories ... Choose your site
Select Generic
In the Load from File(s) box, click on:
All text files in folder (sub-folder included)
Click Configure
Click Add Folder
Select the folder where your files are
Click OK
Click OK in the main window and it should import. |

If you have a lot of files, it can take a long time. Be patient |

In this example the files should be in the "F:\PS" folder.
Does that help? |

You will also have to click on "Force Import" in the other window that will open. I forgot to mention this... |

Llanlad, do you mean you've still got all your hand histories (in a folder), or you've still got your databases PTRACK.MDB and HHDB.MDB? You can't import databases through the import window, but you should be able to simply overwrite the ones in your new installation folder with the old ones from your external drive. (And, even if you do have all the HHs, this would be quicker.)
If you have more than one MDB (PTRACK2.MDB etc.), just create new empty dbs in the new installation and then overwrite the new files with the old ones.
If you've switched from XP to Vista, you might have to do some other stuff, too. See here. |

The only HH's i have right now are in the external HD ... if you could explain how i get them from there and put them back on PT i would be a very happy man indeed !
And im still on XP |

I might have figured it out .... or i might have buggered it up big style !
This kinda makes sense ..
Ive gone to ipoker auto import and changed the HH folder location to my processed hands file on the external HD .... and then force import .
Its in the process of importing 610 files from there ... so its taking a while ...
The plan after is to change this back to the normal HH folder location .. |

[I started this before your last post, but I'll post it anyway]
I'm assuming then that you actually have all the individual session files, with names like "101620071928401_HH20071016 Io IV - $0.50-$1 - Limit Hold'em.txt" (to take a PokerStars example), yes?
You must have thousands. The problem could be that you're just not waiting long enough - it's going to take ages to import them all. Or perhaps PT just can't read that many hands all at once.
Presumably you have separate folders for each site within your Processed Hands folder? Try an import from just one iPoker site, preferably one where you don't have too many hands.
Open PT. Click the ip icon at the top. You'll probably get an alert that no folder is selected. Click OK.
In the import window, click Hand History Folder Location.
In the window that opens up, click add folder.
Browse to E:/Processed Hands/iPoker/Titan or wherever it is that you have those files with the .txt extensions stored. Highlight it and click OK.
The file E:/Processed Hands/iPoker/Titan should now be in the configuration window. Click OK to close it.
The file E:/Processed Hands/iPoker/Titan should now be showing in the import window next to the Hand History Folder Location button. Click Force Import.
If that works, repeat the procedure with the other iPoker sites. Then add the other sites in the same way and import the rest of your hands.
When you've done all the importing, you'll need to go back into the configuration window and change all the Hand History Folder Location file names to the files on your C drive where the hands are going to be stored in the future. You'll also need to add locations for future hand histories to be moved to after they've been processed.
(You might as well use your E drive for this, so you'll still have them should lightning strike twice, but a better solution would be, when you do your backups, to write them to your E drive. The only hand histories you'll need to keep then are those that have been written since the previous backup.) |
