$75 MTT (Top 45 out of 378 paid)
Blinds = 250-500 with 50 ante (9 handed)
I have about 11K in chips (21xBB) with 56 players left

PREFLOP
MP open limps and it's folded to me in the SB
I have 11K and complete the blind with KJ offsuit
Big blind has huge stack (40K) and checks his option

FLOP
Pot =$1950 and flop is K T 4 with two clubs
I bet $1,400, BB raises to $4,000 and MP folds.
BB has been active but not too aggro.
What to do ???

He's either bluffing, has you crushed with KQ, AK, TT, 44, or is a coin flip with Ax of clubs. There's a possibility he is also semi-bluffing with just two clubs. Hell, he could even have AA. With just two other players in the pot, some people will check a strong hand from the BB.to disguise their holdings.

I'd fold but I'm a wimp, and am trying make it past the bubble to get my entry fee back. The only other option is to push it all in and pray. I think.

IMHO there are two ways to play that flop:
- Bet and fold to a raise.
- Check/raise.

I'd go for the check/raise but I'm an aggressive bastard when the bubble approches Wink

Fold. You might be folding the best hand sometimes, but your reverse implied odds are terrible, you're OOP, your hand is marginal, and you're against the big stack.

Yeah, tough spot but I'm going to recommend firing T900-1000 and folding to the raise if it's significant like this one. Too early to get into a pissing contest OOP for those chips. Get his aggro butt later when you KNOW you got him locked up Laughing

Well right or wrong - here is how I played it.
My gut reaction was that he had KT for 2 pair.
But my head said that he would also be raising any king.
I moved allin and sure enough he had the KT.

OTOH folding TPGK with a medium to short stack doesn't feel right either.
I am really starting to like prim's checkraise suggestion.
We would never be folding the best hand and it open the BB's betting range a ton.
