The People's Championship has now sent 2 ITHers to the WSOP ME and one player into the Stars WCOOP ME.

Last year I orgainized the $5,200 WCOOP People's Championship and Primitive won it.

I'm not so confident that we can raise $5,200 this year but the idea itself is a solid one. Is there enough interest to put a player into $1,050 WCOOP NL HE Event #20 on September 14?

---

The basic idea of the People's Championship is that half your buy-in goes to the Winner's pool and half goes to a backers pool.

For example if 10 players play in the satelite the buy-in is $105 each. $52.50 goes to the winners share of his entry to the WCOOP. The other half is retained as your stake in the winner for the event. If the satelite fills the Winner gets 50% plus his own share of his action (so 55% in this example) and the losers would all have 5% of any potential winnings.

---

I think 10 @ $105 should be doable. 5 @ $210 should be as well.

---

Let me know if your interested and make sure you are able to play on the WCOOP date. Perhaps we can send 2 players, but that may require a straight backers pool which should be ok as well.

I think we should also be able to accept W$ as a form of payment because you can transfer W$ by emailing support and the winner can buy-in using W$. If you have some saved up or you can find some to buy that adds a couple % points to your EV.

---

Let me know if there is some reason I'm overlooking why W$ should not be accepted as payment.

One other thing I just thought about... if we play a 10 handed satelite, the tourny will start with 2 - 5 handed tables. That should be fine though.

Also, the buy-ins will have to be shipped to me and then I'll PM the password. If your interested please post your avialability for satelite dates/times. Sundays, shortly before the Million begins seems to be a reasonable time for most MTTers but let me know if that affects your decision to play. The buy-in for the actual privtae tourny will be an additional $5.50 and that will payout as per standard Stars payouts and will not affect the value of either the winners or backers pool.

Also, if we get 6 or 7 players, we can adjust the buy-in if all participants are comfortable with that or we can keep a backers pool open so others can contribute. We can make that decision once we see how many people are interested.

This is just an interest threaed, I'll start an official thread with all the dates, buy-ins, T&C's once we get an idea of where we stand.

I don't want participate as I never play MTT's but I would be willing to buy 5% of the action.

I wouldn't be playing this WCOOP event on a partial buy, would go for Razz, Limit Omaha or HORSE first, but I might fill the last seat to make it 10 if enough others are interested. Already satellited into WCOOP Event 11 PLO8.

Ok, so does the Sunday before sound like a good time for the Sat?

So far we have:

taz115
PauliF
Primitive
TallPaul
jrspm
Damo1

And clabbers as a maybe.

---

If Sun the 7th works for everyone and $210 is not too much for everybody then we have enough. I'll allow others to join up to 10 players and we can reduce the satelite buy-in appropriately as it fills.

I'll put up an 'official' thread this afternoon (after I get some work done) and get the ball rolling.

We will also surely have some backers that will put into a backer pool and the winner may buy more of themselves if there is room. I project we can make it happen for a sat buy-in of between $110 and $150, that should work.

Actually I'm going to set the buy-in at $105 and then give the winner first priority to buy any remaining action, then the players from the satelite and then the general public.

That should work and it should allow the winner and players to increase their stake in the Champion if they choose to. I'm reasonably confident that we should be able to raise the buy-in this way. I'd be in for more for sure anyway.

I'm sure someone would do that for you... I certainly could but would prefer to keep the majority of my money on Stars for the time being. So if you get no other offers PM me.

Ok,

We are open for business. Here is the sticky in case you can't find it Rolling Eyes

First paid first reserved, $105 to enter the sat, the winner and satelite players will be given first opportunity to pick up any remaining action.

Locking this thread... any questions or comments can be added to the Sticky.
