Ok, I understand the concept of pot odds, so don't peg me as some sort of poker ignoramous. I just don't think they justified this call.
Blinds are 150/300. Single table SNG. $100 buy in, a pro named Andrew Wiggins in the BB. He puts in the bb of 300, and has 850 remaining behind.
UTG, who played tight and showed good hands all game, pushes INSTANTLY for 1800. I mean, it screamed strength. A short stack with about 700 chips calls from middle position. All folds around to Wiggins, who thinks, then calls with absolute trash... .
Lets think about the odds here, approximately. 450 in blinds. UTG pushes, giving Wiggins another 850 to win. Small stack pushes his remaining 700. So 2000 chips to win, and it will cost him 850 more. What, like 2.5 to 1?
UTG shows , shorty from mid shows , and the aces hold up. Was Wiggins call appropriate? I can't imagine it was...
