Hi.
I play $0.25$0.50 NLH at BlueSQ. Each time i play, i buy-in with $100, the maximum buy-in. I used to play $0.10/$0.25 at PokerStars, and seemed to master it. Now i've moved over to a different site playing $0.25/$0.50. I've been playing this level for about 3 months now and have a tidy profit.
I currently have a bankroll of $908. A tidy profit to say i only deposited $50 and played at the micro limits to build my bankroll up. Now i play at the $0.25/$0.50.
I'm not a person to rush, i will stay on these limtis as long as it takes. I produced a chart myself from research on the Internet, of when i can move up limits in relation to my bankroll total.
I used:
Max buy-in x 8 = Amount i need to have to play at that level.
So by playing at the $0.25/$0.50 level i would need $800, because the max buy-in is $100.
Is that a correct way to do this? Do you think i should keep playing at the $0.25/$0.50 or move down a level to protect my bankroll?
Its widely accepted that 20 buyins is the minimum bankroll requirements to play NL cash.
Thus 25c/50c with a $50 buyin requires a bankroll of $1000
50c/$1 $2000 etc.
To be in a true comfort zone anything up to 40 times the buyin is advised although 20 buyins imo is plenty.
If you feel u are beating 25c/50c on a regular basis there is nothing wrong with taking a shot at 50c/$1 when your bankroll hits $1300-1500 and if you have a losing session simply jump back down.
