Two table SNG style tournament at a buddys house. We've gotten to one table now, 7 players left. I'm UTG with . The blinds are 50/100, and I'm sitting on 2,000. I'm right around average. I've been dealt absolute trash and haven't played a hand since we moved to one table...maybe 20 or more minutes. I raise to 300.
A luckbox lagtard with a mountain of chips calls, and then the BB...who has been the tightest player at the table...raises to 1,000.
My question...do I have reason enough to fold and leave myself 1,700? The blinds are going to be going up next hand to 75/150 and clearly I have to make a stand sometime in the near future.
I'm going to assume that it's a shove/fold, as calling wouldn't make much sense...right? |

Even a tight villian could be making a squeeze here. Having the lagtard between you to makes this a tough spot for you and he knows that. If you only call, the lagtard likely comes along too.
With 20 BB I would be going with AK here, even against a tight opponent. A case could be made for laying it down here but I think I take the gamble and hope to double up. |

| Tight player or not, this definitely calls for an over the top shove. You're unlikely to see a hand anywhere near that strong before it's all over. And a call would be crazy. |

I agree with sheets from PXF:
If you're forcing someone to call your all-in, it's never a mistake to have AK. |

| Yeah, figured as much. I ran into A A and felt pretty horrible, just wanted to verify it was the right move. |

| Insta-push; if he has QQ/KK/AA then looks like you'll be hitting the club soon to make it rain. |

Defo push - theres 300 dead money in to sweeten the pot from the "lagtard" (that name made me laugh btw!)
Running into the AA here is just bad luck he can have a number of hands here such as QQJJ1010 and AK aswell.
Is he smart enough to be using his very tight reputation? even the most tightest of players bluff, in fact its one of their strongest moves because of their reputation. |
