Just wondering if ITH culd run a HORSE league in the fall. Stars just started running them, and I know Full Tilt has them as well. I know a bunch of people have been trying them out lately...

| We have not finalized all of the league details, but I will say there is a high degree of likelyhood that there will be a mixed league of some sort. |

Terrier,
We have been mulling over a "different" kind of league for this year in our discussions - so thank you for the suggestion.
We will be rolling out details of the 2007 league in the coming weeks.
Best,

I understand the sentiment, but wouldn't it seem odd to play HORSE in the InternetTEXASHOLDEM.com league?
I love lots of games though - so can we through PLO in there too? |

True. But if we have eleventy-seven leagues, how bad could it be to have one oddball. |

| I think double flop holdem would be a more appropriate addition. |

| I'm pretty fond of Scarney, can we add that? Oh, wait, somebody has to offer it online, don't they. |

| I'd like to see a RAZZ league. Both Fulltilt and AP have RAZZ tables. |

I'd love a HORSE league aswell.
The only problem is that Chillin will be kicking my butt at Razz
P.S. I have a little puppy at home now and this is seriously cutting down on my poker playing time |

Don't know if this has been discussed.
But could we get rid of the freeroll and replace it with a small buy-in, say $1 or $2. This might be a way of getting rid of the "I only posted at ITH to play the freerolls and I go all-in every hand until i double or triple up types". |

Barring major changes, there will be one free-roll league, but with the rest of the structure differences, it shouldn't be as big a frustration factor this time around.
Also, and I know everyone says this all the time, it really doesn't hurt to learn to play with these types, especially if you're starting out in low-limit land anyway. I know it's frustrating, and the long run can be an awfully long time, but they're just giving away money (in this case a chunk of equity in a 5-figure prize package). |

I think the experience from last season showed that you can effectively play the same kind of game you always do in the freerolls. As, I think, nside pointed out, we almost always saw the same small group of players on the last few tables. Overall, solid play wins out against the crazies almost all the time. Individuals might fall to the onslaught, but the group that plays solid will have the most representatives at the final table.
Plus, the freeroll is a legitimate tournament format that can be quite profitable. It doesn't hurt to learn how to play them well. I know I certainly altered my freeroll strategy before the season was over.
All that said, I wouldn't shed any tears if there were no freerolls in the league. |
