I felt very insecure how to play this hand. Obviously I should have bet 6th, but I admit I had overlooked that the two other 9s were dead. I don't even know how I could not see this.
Is 4th street a bet?
Thank you.

I'm not really much of a Stud player but I don't really see the point of betting 4th there.
I would raise 5th to thin the field and get a possible free card on 6th, plus you have good equity anyway if people want to be stubborn.
6th looks ilke a definite bet as I'd put Seat 6 on 2 pair at best. He's quite likely to have just a pair of 9's. A lot of people will bet everytime they make an open pair, like its their duty or something. I think you have the best hand on 6th much more often than not.
River, duh.

My thought process was similar to this: No one has shown strength on 3rd, two players have already checked to me on 4th, I have a pair, an ace, and three to a flush, I might as well bet and get people to fold. Don't know if this reasoning makes any sense though.

Looking at the hand now I'm sure you are right. I should have been more observant there.
