That was the first problem. Razz

There was this voice in my head telling me to fold, but it couldn't quite convince me. After all no one had shown strength, and there was only one higher card showing. I wasn't sure though if the dead 8 should be enough reason to fold this.

Holgininho - Glad to see some more 7 stud posts from you. I've recently started playing myself, and you've had some of the same questions that I've had.

Even though it's a loose passive table, I'd fold on 3rd street because one of your eights is dead. If your kicker was higher or if your kicker was a heart, I'd now call. I'd still fold with a diamond kicker because two diamonds are already dead.

As played, I like your bet on 4th. That's the way you want to play this sort of vulnerable hand in a loose game - keep the pot small on 3rd and try to pick up the pot on 4th if you catch well. If you don't hit a good card, check/fold 4th.

On 5th, I think you should have check/folded. The pot's still pretty small when it gets back to you.

On 6th, your bet looks reasonable, though I'm not sure what to do if you're already heads up with the 1 seat. 7th is definitely a check/fold.

5th was probably my biggest problem. I didn't know what hands to put him on at all. There were so many dead diamonds, I ruled out a flush draw. And the trey seemed to be a rather innocent card, though it might have given him some kind of straight draw or even a straight.

On 7th I planned to check and call. After all if he had bet I would have got 9,4:1 on a call, and I had a hand that could definitely beat a bluff.

I would have folded on 3rd with one 8 dead. Would have been borderline with an A or K but maybe I'm too tight.
