Villian was on the tighter side. I was thinking that folding and waiting for a better hand may be best. Wiz says its a push but I hate these spots.
Are we ever folding in a spot like this? This was a non-turbo game so time isn't as big of a factor as it usually is.
Thanks for any info. |

| I dont got Poker Wiz but I can tell you from the SB with everyone folding that I push this 99% of the time. I dont think I would ever limp here from SB evn though a hand like JTs is a great drawing hand. Limping is just playing to soft. |

So how's life at $5.50, checkmate?
This is a standard push, and probably not that close according to ICM either. Is there any calling range for BB that makes this a fold? I'm guessing not. |

| Just ran the numbers myself and this is a push all the way down to a BB calling range of 32%. That would be pretty darn loose for BB here. |

I have only played a few of the $5.50 games but have already won a first place.
I have been playing the $3.40 turbos but can't seem to finish in the money. Its burning up my bankroll. I seem to do better in the regular structure.
I even dropped down to the $1.20's for a bit to rebuild my conficence. (Played 6 games and won 3rd twice, 2nd twice, first once and a 6th) |

Then I think you should stick to the regular $5.50. It's where you are doing well. I have watched your progress and I like your plans and goals. Good luck the rest of the way.

Yeah, villian was on the tight side so I figured it would be an easy push. With around 10BB's I don't think I push enough and this JTs hand is probably at the bottom of my range.
I have some work to do with wiz it seems. |

| Did you adjust WIZ's default ranges to reflect your reads? |

Yeah. That is something that I have also been trying to improve upon as well.
I think I will take your advice and leave the turbos alone for a while. |

| I've been playing the $3.40 turbos myself for quite a while and they are definitely higher variance. Turbos emphasize a different skill set than regular speed SnGs, in particular high blind pushing play. My problem is that every time I try to move up to $5.50, I struggle - probably a combination of psychological barrier and the fact that I've gotten so used to the turbo structure that I have a hard time adjusting. |

jm what about the $6.50s? I would think with one less player maybe it wouuld be a touch bit easier to finish ITM. I know Im probably wrong but that is always a thought I have had.
Plus the rake is a bit easier than the $5.50 games. |

I don't know if I'm quite ready to double my stakes yet.
I'm kind of stuck in a no-man's land between wanting to play regular speed because I prefer them to turbos, and wanting to play turbos because they fit better with my schedule and move more quickly. I keep telling myself that I'm going to stop playing turbos, but when push comes to shove that's where I end up. I even took a few days off last week because the push-botting nature of the turbos was starting to drive me insane. Unfortunately Stars introduced the SnG leaderboards, which just gives me more incentive to play the turbos (I'd have a harder time fitting in 20 regular speed SnGs in a week). |

Learn to love the turbos. And the leaderboard sucks, because it's been drawing me in to playing 100 a week, which is like 40% more than I'd do otherwise (though I did make a small score off it).
This is a standard shove, but don't be surprised when you're called lighter than you'd expect if BB is a regular. Given the variance inherit in shoving, there are opponents against whom a limp-steal is a good alternative, as well. |
