What would you play in limit and NL with that BR?

$25NL (20 buyins) should be OK for starters, and most would say 1/2 limit although personally I'd recommend .5/1.

thanks for the reply. I'm waiting on my copy of Internet texas holdem before I try limit. People told me it was a complete limit guide and I've never really played and all the books I've read have been on NL so I dont know how the concepts differ

You made a great choice ordering ITH. It is a great book for intermediates and new players. It improved my game a lot!

Hope to see you around the forums.

If you are new to the game or just not quite yet confident in your skill then I would reccomend:

NL10 and Limit .50/1

It's not just the danger of losing the bankroll, it's also the worry of losing such a large chunk of it that you start to play badly.

However if you think that losing the whole bankroll is not a disaster and you can probably replace it then playing higher should be fine.
