475 runners, down to 15. Blinds are 1500/3000 and I've just doubled with a weak ace. I'm still a vulnerable stack, but I've been playing smart and the table respects my raises. UTG has been active but clearly experienced, and has been playing well.

UTG: 35,000

HERO: 33,000

UTG raises to 9,000. Folds to me on the BTN, and I hold Ace of Clubs Queen of Diamonds . We are now 7 handed.

What do you do here???!!! I'm 10/15 here, with chip leader at 120,000.

I elected to shove, he called and showed Jack of Spades Jack of Hearts , and his Jacks turned into a full house. To make this pill even harder to swallow, it's the 2nd turney in the last 5 of 500ish runners that I ended in the teens, but NOT final table. In both tournaments $600 or so went to the winner, and I ended up cashing for a total of $40. I'm seething mad right now. Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad

It depends on exactly how active UTG has been, but in general this is a situation where you push and pray.

You have 11BBs left. I would shove this too and pray that he doesn't have AA, KK, QQ or AK.

Right move. Just unlucky you lost a flip.

I think a shove is fine here.

UTG was very cagey and was raising at opportune times to swoop up the blinds, and was generally playing quite well IMO. I knew that his UTG 3X BB raise was a strong move, I just didn't know quite how strong.

I was actually very glad to see J J in this spot, I thought it could easily have been worse. Not so glad when I saw the J high flop. Wink
