I think it really depends on how quickly your willing to move down. I agree with Bugs that if you are going to stick on one limit the required BR is going to large, at least 500BB. But this might only be applicable to a professional that has to play a certain a limit to earn his projected rate and can;t really move down, he might even want 1000BB.
I play with 300-400, and move down whenever my BR can't support the limit I'm playing. But I'm more aggressive with my BR because I can replenish it in a pinch and I'm also not adverse to moving down when I'm running poorly.
