Blinds are 60/120. Field has reduced to 60, 18 pay. Villain here has been noticed as tight, and has 5,500. I'm in the SB holding 9 of Hearts 9 of Spades , and have 7,000 chips.

UTG, with 8,000 chips, limps. Villain here raises to 700 from the button, and it's on me. Knowing what I've told you, what's your move here? For what it's worth, both players are surprisingly winners at higher levels according to OPR.

I fold here. We don't really have odds to call for set. A call could possibly be justified if your plan is to try and move him off the flop but we have a big stack and I'm not willing to risk a large portion of it trying to make a play with 99.

Same with reraising, I have to commit to many of my chips to try and win this pot.

JJ would make this all the more difficult. I think I would be pushing with J J.

How small would the stacks need to be for 9 9 to be worth pushing with the same read on opponents? And how BIG would they need to be to justify calling?

FWIW, I did fold the 9 9 only to see a 9 on the flop. The limper called, checked the flop, BTN bet out 2/3 pot, and limper folded. Never saw anyones cards.
