Hi everyone..

Im having a slight problem with Pacific Poker ..

I dont play there that often ... maybe the odd MTT but mainly i pop in there from time to time to play a $50 Limit HU match when i fancy something different.

Anyways.... I went there yesterday to play a HU match ..

Whilst i was playing the HU game i got a pop up about a limit STT .. i did not take much notice as i was concentrating on the game and clicked it off..

But last night i was checking all my balances with my records and found i was down by $33.00 at Pacific !!

I checked the SNG's records at Pacific ... and it showed id played in a $30 5 player limit SNG !!

The hand histories showed i did not play a single hand..

I sent them an email saying i did not play in this tourni and can i have my money back !!

They responded in saying " NO " ..they implied the technical problem must have been mine as their software was running ok ..

Ive just sent them an email saying i had no software problems as i was playing in a HU tourni at the same time !!

I cant remember ever entering this STT ... not sure how i was enrolled in it...

Is there anything i can do about this ... im awaiting there next reply

It's a bit concerning that it seems you can accidentally register for a tournament via a random popup message on Pacific? I've not played there for a while, but is this how their popup adverts work? Plenty of sites will advertise tourneys through popup messages but I've never heard of them presenting an option of actually registering through a random popup message. If this is indeed the case then it's surely inevitable that people would accidentally register for tournaments as they hurry to remove the popup from the game screen they are playing on.

Even stranger that the tournament table didn't open up automatically. A possible reason for this is that I think you registered for it through the popup, but the tournament did not fill up and start until you had finished your heads-up game and had logged off, therefore you were not there when it started. However, most sites will automatically unregister you from a SNG if you logout, but I'm not sure whether this is the case on Pacific.

Unfortunately I think it will be very difficult for you to get a refund on this as they will probably just go by what their system records show and claim that as you apparently registered for the tournament, then you are committed to whatever happens afterwards.

It sounds like they may have setup a very iffy popup message system, and if I were you I would look further into it and argue that such a feature is extremely unfair and very likely to cause such mistakes.

I'd send another email telling them that if they do not remedy the situation you'll close your account, tell everyone you know who plays poker there about what they did, and then top it off by guaranteeing them bad publicity at various online poker forums.

Something along the lines of, "...if this is the level of customer service I can expect at Pacific Poker, I will close my account and go to Party Poker...."

The only thing i can think that happened is ... i must have registered for it just before registering for the HU tourni...

But i was only in the site for about 5 mins before i started the HU match ...and i dont play limit STT's very often either.

The pop up must have been telling me the STT is about to start ...

But if i can forget that ive sign up for a STT within 5 minutes .. then i have bigger problems than losing $33 .. lol

I know its been a long week and the weather is very hot .... but Rolling Eyes

Anyways ... i see your a fan of Ren and Stimpy !! ... ive bought some odd things on Ebay .. but one of them was the entire 90 episodes of Ren & Stimpy for my son Very Happy

Nice one..

Karen from customer service has just notified me that the $33.00 has been returned to my account .. Very Happy

A kind of goodwill gesture..

Happy ending anyway ...

I could now complain that i would of won the tourni if id played and demanded that the winnings be credited to my account..

hehehe Wink

Nice one - Good to hear you got your money back.

Didn't know there were 90 episodes in total - probably seen about half of them (not so easy to find online). That's a great purchase you made! Laughing

I'm very, very glad you received a refund. Was going to ask you if you wanted us to begin an e-mail campaign to them. Terrible set-up they've got going.

This is what I find hard to believe.

Anyway, glad it's over and your money was refunded. I won't have anything to do with sites that have to obtain their money by these shady practices. Haven't played there in ages and don't intend to return.

(Going to ask Cyb to move this to PSRF so I can link it with Pacific.)
