Poker Stars, $3 + $0.40 NL Hold'em Tournament, 100/200 Blinds, 4 Players
LeggoPoker.com - Hand History Converter
SB: 5,488
BB: 2,319
UTG: 4,258
Hero (BTN): 1,435
Pre-Flop: (400) dealt to Hero (BTN)
UTG raises to 400, Hero raises to 1,410 and is All-In, 2 folds, UTG calls 1,010
Villian is a taggish type of player for this limit. His minraise prob means stronger Kings, Ax, 44+ QTs JTs. I think he calls my push with a tighter range but getting almost 2:1 I bet he will call my push even wider. It seems Im forced to flip a coin in this spot.
After review, Wiz puts my TT right at the bottom of the range for my push after I adjusted villians range.
I don't think I can fold this one. What do you guys think?
Flop: (3,220) (2 Players - 1 is All-In)
Turn: (3,220) (2 Players - 1 is All-In)
River: (3,220) (2 Players - 1 is All-In)
Results: 3,220 Pot |

Wow, just noticed, seems I have passed 4k posts somewhere along the way.
This forum has always been a fun/friendly place to discuss strat. On other forums, if you have 4k posts and don't play nose bleed stakes your flamed to no end when you try to discuss strat. |

| Easy shove. I'm shoving even if Villain makes a standard 3-4x raise. |

SB is actually the key to this hand. If he's super-aggressive and I think UTG isn't retarded, I expect UTG to be trapping here.
UTG is clearly never folding to just a shove from you (well, unless he actually is an idiot). TT should be near the bottom of your range mostly because doubling here doesn't really guarantee anything and you're almost always flipping (I don't think 55 and K9 and QT and the like are often in his range, though you will sometimes get called by A8 or similar). Still, a flip is fine here even if it's slightly -EV, since you're very likely to be facing worse going forward (balanced, again, against the possibility of someone doing something insane, which can't be completely ruled out, especially in a $3.40). |

I think your range might be too wide for a taggish player, but it does depend on what he has been doing on the bubble prior to this. If this is his first raise in a little while (especially if the minraise is out of character), then I think his range is quite a big tighter than you estimate.
Tough spot because you are getting very low but you would be much better off taking advantage of FIV. Where exactly are you in the blind structure? If you just started the 100/200 level, an argument could be made for folding and waiting for a better stealing spot; if you're nearing the end of 100/200/25, then you really have to go here. |
