I would really like to hear some feedback about this site from players who have played there a lot. I used to play there, for a short time. Withdrew my money (can't remember why) and am now giving it a stab, again. For one thing, at $3/6, there isn't one full cash table going. Maybe I left becz of no traffic. I'm playing at the only full ring table at $2/4 available, now. Anyone? And if you do play there a lot, what levels and what time of day do you find best?

Ive just withdrawn everything from Doyles, ive started to notice a pattern. Theres a way you can look over your transaction history and view the results of all past games, ive been playing there about 5 months. I only play sng tourneys, and basically im usually consisitent always placing in the top3, then suddenly for no apparent reason I go on a losing streak - in my transaction history, each losing streak has lost me exactly 35 games in a row, no word of a lie, and this has happened 3 times.

I didnt lose too much because after the first 10 I dropped down to the $1 games to ride the streak out - I got used to this pattern and expected it to happen every now and again, but it drove me mad! Ive also spoken to other people within the poker room who have had the same problem.
Now compare this to ladbrokes which so far seems to be pretty legit - no more automatic bad beats in tournaments to whoever happens to be the shortest stack in to the tournament, with AA. If i have the shortest stack in doyles room in a tourney, I almost want to fold AA as %90 of the time I will lose to something like 72 making a fullhouse, truly unbeleivable...

I realise ill probably get flamed for this , but this is my own personal opinion and I dont expect everyone to agree. Ive played on many sites, and for bad beats this seems to be one of the worst

You wont get flamed from me trej .. Very Happy

Ive had a long history with the tribecca network ... its where i used to play cash games... but i got banned 3 times for going mad in the lobby ..

So i gave the place up ...but 18 months later .. i felt i was a better player and could handle the swings that much better... so armed with poker tracker ...i went back ..

I deposited $600 to try and earn the $660 bonus ..But within 3 days ..id lost the lot .. I was showing a loss with AA, KK and QQ ... in fact all PP apart from 99 !!

Now i have accounts at roughly 12 sites and only show a loss on one...and that was ladbrooks, which i showed a little loss after getting a bonus there.. I had never lost $600 at any sites since .... well Victor Chandler !!!!! ...

So it seemed the tribecca network had done me again ...

But after hearing you can get action points through SNG's etc ... i went back this month to slowly try and get this bonus ...

Well .. the SNG's have gone a down a treat for me so far ... in about 40 .. ive been ITM about 33 times ... made back my $600 and won an additional $550 !!

But i have a few mates who play there .. and they have played there a while now... and they all say the same thing ...

You will win for now ... but you will hit a massive downswing ... Confused

If this does happen .. ill keep track of how many it is ... if it gets to 35 for me. ... then ill let you know Very Happy

I had a favorable rakeback deal with another Tribeca and used to play there a fair amount at low stakes quite a while ago (in fact, before Doyle's Room existed).

At the low limits, the site is as fishy as anywhere. If this is possible, the players were looser and worse than at Party. I always suspected that the players at the higher limits (5/10 and above) might be much better, but I never played there long enough to find out. Right now, I still have a few hundred in my account so I occasionally go back just for kicks.

But I mostly avoid the place because I really dislike the software. Now, it is at least compatible with Poker Tracker. Still, even though I have a good deal over there, I have little inclination to play there, because of the software (and my assumption that at 5/10 and higher the player pool isn't that juicy).

Thanks, guys, for the feedback. Doesn't sound good. I've logged on 3 times recently and there's just no traffic at either $2/4 or $3/6 full ring. May end up withdrawing my br again. Seems like every site I play at either is losing traffic or has tightened up badly. May be forced to return to Empire. Confused

Lol good riddance to Doyles! The moneys just sitting in Neteller at the mo as I know I would end up going back and losing more!
To be honest Llanlad I also had a massive winning streak within the first few weeks, everthing went right - and exactly the same as you I was either winning or ITM 90% of the time, at one point I won 7 in a row! After a while it would go back to normal, and then the downswing Evil or Very Mad

Anyways good luck all, hopefully youll have better luck than me!!

PS. Sorry bit off topic
Llanlad whereabouts in North Wales are you? My girlfriend is from Anglesey, im from Cardiff.

Very little FR limit going on but the 6-max is juicy (not much of it either but always a few tables at my limits ((3/6 to 5/10)).

The software grows on you. The buddy list and notes functions are the best I've seen.

Tornaments sucks. The blinds goes of like crazy. I'll rather play bingo than play tournies on Tribeca.

trej/Llanlad: You guys are ...........
The beats may look worse at Tribeca than elswhere but thats only because the players chase more.
+ there is that annoying little field in the bottom right corner that reminds you that the cards you folded preflop would have made the nuts Wink

Hmmm... (thinking of your post, Prim) Logged on last night and the only full ring was $1/2. Though I may need to drop down to $2/4, in general, $1/2 is hard to do... hard to stay attentive.

Early on in my career (maybe a little less than a year), I met shorthanded and fell in love. He was not good to me. Took complete advantage of my naievite Rolling Eyes and used me bad. Broke up with him. Now, another year has passed and I've grown a little wiser... maybe this would be the place to give him another spin... shorthanded at 1/2.

trej .... im from a place called Ffestiniog .. which is about 30 miles from Bangor ... which as you probably know...is only a bridge crossing from Anglesey Very Happy

Im actually enjoying playing at Doyles Room .. ive allways liked the software and the look ... its just the cards that annoy me .. hehehehe

But im mainly a 6 max NL cash game player .. and i have a few bonus's to clear and rakeback to be earned ...so i dont play the cash tables there.

But ive really taken an interest in SNG's and MTT's lately and as i know quite a few players who play there ... its kinda fun for me just to chill out and play a few tournis there ..

I have allready got to know a few good MTT players who seem to get to the final table of the $20K guaranteed very regulary ... they give me a little advice and its good to watch them play ... im allways trying to improve ...

And as i get my tourney fees as action points .. it goes some way towards my 132k action points needed for that $660 bonus.. Very Happy

Aye I know ffestiniog, my missus has a mate from Blaenau! Small world eh lol

To be honest I also like the software which is the only reason I managed to stay there so long!
Im playing the sngs and mtts on ladbrokes atm, the software aint as good(you cant type in the amount to bet!) but no downswings as of yet. Am tempted to give pokerstars a try considering their new sign up bonus

one thing about the shorthanded games here - because there is light traffic generally at the limit tables you often find novice players will just sit down at a game way above their normal level just because there's a spare seat.
Sometimes the games are as good as it gets - but don't keep all your bankroll here as sometimes you have to go elsewhere for a good game.

Very appealing remark. I was going to withdraw today, but saw a fr at 2/4, so decided to wait. Sounds like this would, in deed, be a good place to practice some s/h. Surely I've progressed past the point of the f*i*s*h I was a year-and-a-half ago... mebbe... Wink

Its all coming back to me now !!! lolololol Wink

Ive moaned about the tribecca network before ... and as ive had a really good time there on the SNG's and MTT's over the last 6 weeks .. im not going to knock the tribecca network again ...

But .... Rolling Eyes

I remember the bad old days when i got my **** handed to me on a silver plate .. it was allmost as if there was nothing i could do to prevent it... with the cards as they where .. you could not do anything about it .. it was probably this that annoyed me more than anything ... it was as if the cards could not be random .. it was just your turn to suffer ..

Well this has just happened to me in the last 25 mins ..

I have Qs 5s in BB .. the SB who is aggressive...mini raises .. i call .
flop is Ks Qc 4s ... he bets .. i flat call ..
Turn is Qh .. he bets , i raise, he calls
river is 5d .. he bets , i raise he goes all in... i call ... he shows KK

I get 99 and its folded to me in SB .. i raise BB calls
flop is 69T , i bet he raises i go all in .. he calls and shows 78

I get KA in BB and someone in MP raises .. i call
flop is AAQ , we end up all in ... and shows QQ

Now i want to play here to get that $660 bonus...but if ive hit a downswing here.. then its going to be savage ..

Im well up at this site..so no complaints really .. but i can remember back to the earlier downswings .. Ive had downswings at various sites .. but none compare to the brutality of the ones here ..
