I'm feeling tired of my usual limit grind, perhaps because the fishies have been tormenting me at 15/30. I'm going to embark on a version of Wynton's Silly Quest. I'm going to sit at the lowest Party limit with 20BBs and move up when I reach 20 BBs at the next level. If I drop the full 20 at any level, I'll consider it a loss.

Bugs thinks I'm a lock to go broke. I think I've got a shot to make it to 15/30. I'll post periodic updates to this thread.

In case I drop below the minimum buy-in, I'll buy in for the minimum, but keep track as if I was playing the "correct" bank roll.

If I go broke, I may try a maniac challenge, in which I try to stay afloat playing hyper-aggro.

I think you're a lock to go broke too. Enjoy.

I won't let them go broke alone.

This really caught my interest more than the silly quest Twisted Evil

As I've posted in the other thread, I'm really interested to know whether our level of success at these quests will appear to have any relation to the format of our preferred game.

Incidentally, I believe that the most straightforward, and perhaps the silliest quest, would involve sng: where someone simply plays the sng at the highest level they can afford, and repeat the process until going broke. But I suppose that's been done many times.

I've played one short session so far. It was 82 hands and my $20 bankroll stands at $25.50 -- I lost $4.50 with KK on my last hand when the bad guy hit a flush. My low was $19 and my high was $31.50. If I run 2 bb/100, this is going to take a while.

I know, that's what I'm worried about too. It's pretty boring when one is well above the 20 bb at one level, but not yet at 20 bb for the next level.

That's why you start at .50/1 and go to 1/2 instead of .05/.10 to .25/.50 Smile

Well, that was quick. It took 17 more hands and now I'm at $41, so I have to move up to $1/$2. I hit a low of $22 and went out on my high.

I hit a set, a flush and a straight and there you go. All three hands were marginally playable, but this was a nice loose table. 66 from MP1, 76s from MP3 and 43o from the SB.

Here are my final stats from $0.50/$1.00:

99 hands, VP$IP 21.21, PFR 8.09 (I must be rocking up), AF 2.00, W$SF 42.31, W$SD 62.5%, WTSD 30.77, BB/100 21.21 (heh)

Does this prove Bugs wrong yet? Wink On to 1/2!

Early on at 1/2, I get TT, QT, JJ, QQ, and QQ again on consecutive hands. Only two of them held up, but I'm at $55 in 20 hands.
