It apparently works considerably more quickly and efficiently than Access, especially for large databases. (I'm talking about PT2 - still don't have PT3). I converted with a somewhat smaller database than 185k hands, and it has always worked fine.

You can also run it on a server and take much of the load of updating the database off the machine you play on.

My PC doesn't have Postgres sql, and being a retard I can't figure out how to download it off the website.

Any advice?

Thanks in advance

When i downloaded PT3 i chose to automatically download Postgres SQL .

Even though i never used it before and still TBH have no idea how it works now .. it still works fine ..

Ive only downloaded the ipoker hands for the Postgre SQL database ... maybe half a million hands ( still not hit a set in those hands ) ... ok maybe a few Very Happy . .and ive not had any problems so far .

I'm still on PT2 - requires a manual download of postgres and I'm clearly not nearly IT savvy enough to work it out Sad

The second post tells you what you need to know for a local setup (it's in response to a PT3 issue, so you can ignore the part about uninstalling PGSQL at the beginning and just start from the part about downloading it).
