|
|
After months of work and a lot of setbacks, ITH finally has a Poker Tutor! We are very excited to be launching the ITH Poker Tutor to the forum!
The Poker Tutor is a toll that allows you to watch pros play poker and see their thoughts and comments on each hand as it plays out. You can also parse and playback your own hands (currently only accepts Party Poker hand histories from your email).
We are also proud to announce that the Hendon Mob has agreed to provide poker lessons exclusively through the Poker Tutor! You can view demos of what the poker tutor can do at the Poker Tutor page:
www.internettexasholdem.com/pokertutor.
This is the official launch to the forum and we welcome any feedback and suggestions you guys have. If anything is not clear or you think something could be done better, let us know in this thread!

Is this for U.S. residents only?
Only shows U.S. states in required field. |

I don't mean to be a spoil sport, but isn't this essentially just a computer interactive version of doing sample problems in a book, without having to put a piece of paper over the answer?
What would be really great is if you could email a whole bunch of hand histories in somewhere and then you could get a pro's take on how you played certain hands. Of course, that would probably cost a lot of money to have someone take the time to do that.
And I just can just do that by posting them here anyway. |

I find that I lose patience with book hand examples in a way that I don't with this method. I really enjoyed the lessons. |

Looks great - just a thought:
Can you have a tables conditions/notes place? It took me a while to realize that the Hendon examples were the first stage of the SNG. Also, there were references to a player's image or habits, or the table conditions that weren't shown until the specific comment made by the instructor. Having this info available at any time might be useful.
Also I would put serious thought into how you plan on naming and storing the examples. You may want to keep them server side, using the player's authentication (login) to determine which he has paid for.
Also, the naming convention needs to be simple enough to be understood, but difficult enough to be unique and identifiable.
Being a computer geek, I'll likely have more later... |

Well you asked for comments, here you go...
I just noticed that when the cards are displayed you cannot see the amount of chips the player has.
The example is the first hand You can see his chip total until the two cards are displayed, then they cover his chip totals.
Good tool. |
