In a thread over at the 2plus2 forum, Mason posted that they are thinking about cutting back or exiting the book business. His stated reason was that he feels the current 2plus2 books cover virtually every area of poker.
Is this the real reason or is it because a lot of authors previously published by 2plus2 evidently don't want to work with the company, or the company doesn't want to work with them, anymore?
Miller, Mehta, and Flynn wrote a book, were supposed to write a follow up, but that is not going to happen at 2plus2.
Stoxtrader wrote a book, was supposed to write a follow up, but that is not going to happen.
2plus2 had a chance to publish a follow up to Jeff Hwang's Omaha book (published by Lyle Stuart), but it is going to be a DIMAT book.
So is the real reason what Mason stated or is it due to lack of willing authors, lack of product? The only book currently even being contemplated is a new Dan Harrington book and that won't be out until sometime in 2009. |

Wait a minute.
Wasn't something said earlier this year that they had a 2-year supply of books over there?
What happens to that supply if they get out of the book business?
Do they just throw them all away? |

I would imagine that they would release no new books and just keep selling their existing stock until it is gone. |

| I notice that it says "banned" under Matt Flynn's name on his existing posts. They didn't kill his threads, but they won't let him post any more. |

Yes, Matt has been banned from posting on 2plus2. Matt, Ed, and Sunny were still trying to negotiate their release from 2plus2 and the disagreement between the authors and Mason came out due to something that Mason posted. Matt defended himself and ended up being banned. |

I was wrong when I stated Mason had indicated they were thinking about exiting the publishing business. This was another poster interpreting something Mason said in the 2plus2 magazine.
What Mason said in the magazine was that [paraphrasing] while they expected to be in the business for years to come, they were thinking about cutting back their publishing schedule. |

What? No more books on limit hold em strategy covering information that has been in 3,000 previous books? |

| If I were looking for a 2p2 book for NL microstakes, where should I start? |

I don't know of one by any of their authors. I actually don't know of any in general. In general if you find a NL book that discusses NL200 games that roughly translates to NL25 games online. |

I think the basics of poker apply to any level. That said, there are no books written specifically and solely for microstakes. Your best bet is to take a look at forums which have sections devoted to that level. |
