Rake Structure

Party Poker has an even structured rake platform across the board, except at the $.50/$1 and $1/$2 fixed limit level. Here they buck the trend, and the rake schedule for these limits is draconian. Rather than follow the industry norm of $.25 rake per $5 to a maximum of $1.00 at $20, they start the rake at $.50 at $5. At $12 in the pot, the rake jumps to $.75, and settles at $1 max at $20. Since most average pots that get raked reach a 5-7BB, those at a $.50/$1 table will get raked an extra $.25 each time it does get raked. This also means that most average pots at $1/$2 will trigger the earlier rake of $.75. This doesn't mean that Party Poker is not still a very lucrative site, but players should be aware that the rake structure shows a significant change at the $.50/$1 and $1/$2 fixed limit levels.
