Name:
RiverCascade... oh, you mean my alter identity? That be Tracey. Age: Younger than the stars and the moon. ~big ole toothy grin~ Wonder if I'll ever be old enough to tell my age? I'm working on it... Where are you from? Born, Columbus, Ohio, the last 12 years in the Cascade Mountains of Washington State, via Hollywood (graduated HHS), all over so. Cali., Ohio, Colorado, Iowa, back to Cali, and finally home to roost in Washington State. This place is what I was searching for all my life. Are you married? Children? Not for 25 years. 3 outstanding daughters! Jubilee, Charis, and Nikaia. Their giving evidence my time here has not been wasted. What do you do for a living? ~gulp~ I, not uncommonly in these circles, hope to earn my money thru the realm of the poker world. In my prior life (all of it), I was a paralegal, speciality civil lit, and p.i. (sexual abuse). How long have you been playing Internet poker? Poker of any type-- real money since August 16th of last year (2004, today is February 7, '05). I played play chips for one month prior. Although the cheatsheet has fallen by the wayside, when I catch a fullhouse and there's a flush on the board, I still have to keep telling myself, you've got it! (Larger fh notwithstanding.) What limits do you play? I'm currently into my 4th attempt at $1/2. My third attempt occurred simultaneously with my switch to shorthanded, which I play exclusively now. Hint: if you're planning a move to s/h, drop down a level (at least), NOT time it with a move-up! ~banging head against desk~ I began at .5/.10, and earned the requisite bb's (and more) at each successive level. Highly recommended for beginners. It's more than the earning of money at each level. It's all about the experience and hard knocks earned and learned. What is your favorite site and why? Ugh... to give up my secret... Empire!! I really should say Absolute so anyone reading might head there and leave the fishier fish to me at the Party pond. I like the big pots and betting/raising to the river w/nil. It's downright heady! Absolute $2+.25 nl sng's are quite the successful diversion. What has been your biggest poker thrill or achievement up to now? The acquiring of a coach... who has been indispensable to whatever growth I've obtained, along with this forum. It takes a whole forum to raise a pokah chile'! Honestly, wherever I am, I'm light years ahead because someone said they'd take me on, in my second month on this forum. It takes an unbelievable amount of time to coach someone. There aren't words of gratitude I can express for my appreciation of this endeavor. I can only hope that in the realm of the universe he will receive back what he's given. (I've never given his name on account of not wanting my play to reflect poorly on him. All mistakes are solely my own. Any, however slight, success, is a result of his coaching and my ith forum neighborhood. What area of your game are you currently focusing on? Shorthanded, definitely. It's the answer between wanting to stick to limit and liking more involvement than the grind of full ring. If you could go back in time and start all over again on the Internet, what would you do differently? Hmmm... nothing? The gift of a coach who set me on the course of specific goals, daily book study, and involvement in limit hand samples from the get-go... well, it just left no time for wasting. If I could wish anything different, it would be that I wasn't a math idiot. I just have to work harder in that area, is all. What’s your favorite poker saying or phrase? It changes weekly. This week it's: Even if our efforts of attention seem for years to be producing no result, one day a light that is in exact proportion to them will flood the room.-- Simone Weil (I'm sure it's not coincidental that favorite life sayings are also my favorite poker sayings.) Who is your favorite poker player (if you have one)? My coach, and Gus Hansen. Gus Hansen is purely personal. ~HUGE big ole toothy grin~ After that would be the many members of this forum that I'm familiar with, Bugsbunny, Nsidestraight, Geormiet, in no particular order, and among many others. Unfortunately, I came on the scene when Pichard was making an (I hope, temporary) exit. I understand his posts are required reading and they're on my list. Oh, and I can't omit George Clooney, errr... I mean BernardDogs. ;) And, mcschmidt-- humor relief! Then, there are the others who have contributed to my growth with their time, encouragement, and generousity, like LittleDave, SRH, mchilger, and HeyBert. I can't name them all here, but this forum is amazing and outstanding. It's really remarkable what the players are willing to give. LadyLukAA was the person who befriended me first and pooh-poohed my fears of playing in the monthly ith tourneys. I'd be lost without her friendship! I deeply respect Doyle Brunson... who doesn't?! What are your other interests outside of poker? Life outside of poker? Surely you jest. Okay, traveling... go Caribbean! My dogs, my cats, any animals, my mountains, my river, any nature, all wildlife, my live friends... Wow, I do have a life! ;) Feel free to add anything else you would like to say. Thank you, thank you, thank you!! |
