Ray Martinelli, aka Seadood228
Seadood maintains a 1000 big bet bankroll, yet is waiting for Shana Hiatt to enter his life...conservatism with a flair!

Name Ray Martinelli

Age 29

Where are you from
I've been in Denver for the last 16 years

Are you married? Children?
I'm still waiting for Shana Hiatt! No Children.

What do you do for a living? Wireless Engineer although I'm schooling for a career change to Medicine.

How long have you been playing internet poker?
Since August 03, although I have only been playing Limit ring games since January 04.

What limits do you play?
Mostly 2/4, with a little 3/6 mixed in when I'm feeling lucky. I'm currently adhering to a conservate 1000BB bankroll, so I don't foresee jumping up any time soon.

What is your favorite site and why?
For tourneys, NL in particular, I prefer Pokerstars. The skill level of the competition there works better with my style. I like Party and Pacific's ring games because the pots are quite large.

What area of your game are you currently focusing on?
I've really been focusing on all aspects of the limit ring games. When I first started playing holdem, it was strictly NL tourneys. Making the switch to limit ring games has been tough, because the two are so different.

If you could go back in time and start all over again on the Internet, what would you do differently?
I would have read Matthew's book about 3 times and began playing limit ring games instead of NL tourneys. Limit holdem teaches you more of the fundamentals of the game, which can only help when you make the switch to NL and tourneys.

What has been your biggest poker thrill or achievement up to now?
Although I've had some tourney success, I always remember individual hands. I'd have to say I am most proud of the time I took down a monster pot in a B&M 4/8 game with the worst possible hand. I was holding pocket 2's in late position and the board ended up being 8 8 4 7 7. I was able to deduce that my 2s were good until the river paired the 7. I was now looking at a duece kicker with 3 people still in the pot. The early player checked, middle player bet, and I raised figuring it was worth a try with such a large pot. To my surprise everyone folded!

What’s your favorite poker saying or phrase?
I love it when a player loses a pot and writes, "nh." It's like a euphemism for "I can't believe you beat me with that junk!"

Who is your favorite poker player (if you have one)?
I really admire Gus Hansen and Layne Flack's playing style. They're the perfect example of players who play their opponents and not the cards.

What are your other interests outside of poker?
Jet skiing, Golf, Basketball, and I occasionally play my bass guitar when I have the time

Feel free to add anything else you would like to say.
