Name John Brian Clark Age 23 Where are you from? Catonsville, Maryland Are you married? Children? Yes, with a beautiful one year old daughter What do you do for a living? I am a Managing Consultant for a company called Netstar-One. I handle advanced Cisco data and Voice over IP installations mainly for the Executive office of the President and for The US Deparment of Labor. How long have you been playing Internet poker? I started playing online July of 2003 What limits do you play? I play a combination of $0.5/$1, $1/$2 limit games and $5+$1 and $10+$1 SnG tournaments. What is your favorite site and why? I can't say I have a single favorite. I like PartyPoker for its loose and easy to beat ring games, and I like PokerStars for its excellent Sit and Go tournaments. What has been your biggest poker thrill or achievement up to now? I would have to say that the biggest thrill so far was placing 32nd out of 6282 players in a PokerStars freeroll tournament. I did not win anything, however it allowed me to gain something much better -- confidence in myself. What area of your game are you currently focusing on? I am trying to focus mostly on my NL tournament play. If you could go back in time and start all over again on the Internet, what would you do differently? I would read Matthew's book first before starting to play limit games. I may have avoided losing most of my first deposit. What’s your favorite poker saying or phrase? I love to program websites and desktop applications, work on my cars, brew my own beer, and probably my most used hobby would be cooking. Feel free to add anything else you would like to say. I have always enjoyed online gaming, and ever since I was 21 I have also enjoyed gambling. I never thought of gambling online as something I would ever take part in, however at the time I knew nothing of poker. One of my friends pointed out that you could play real money poker online at very low limits. I decided to give it a try and have not looked back since. I decided that if I was going to get into poker I may as well do it like I get into any other hobby. I bought as many books as I could and began reading. I would have to say that Matthew’s book has been the best tool for improving my poker play. If it were not for his book I would have never found the forums which I find to be the best group of players and all around good people.
