Name: Chris Platt
aka chrisjp Age: 53, can I really be THAT old? Where are you from? Las Vegas, but originally from Los Angeles
Yes, and we're blessed with a 7 year old daughter (just like FossilMan)
Retired Attorney (just like FossilMan)
2 months (unfortunately the similarities to FossilMan are over), but I played a great deal of 7 Stud in Vegas back in the late 80s, early 90s
I only play NL tournaments: currently $10-$50 SNGs.
Well the only one I’ve played at is Paradise. I opened an account there to play in the ITH July tournament and I haven't ventured away. I eventually plan to play at PokerStars--the tournaments there sound like my cup of tea. I'm happy with Paradise right now. Their support for a newbie has been great. I'm learning and I'm even winning some. Can't beat that. Thrill--I enjoyed playing Stud 8 or better with Telly Savalas at the Dunes years ago. He was quite the gentlemen, and fun at the table. He would get a kick out of trying to bluff players off their hands. Achievement: I made the final table of the WSOP 7-stud on my first attempt.
What area of your game are you currently focusing on? Tournaments, tournaments, tournaments. No Limit, No limit, No limit. After football season is complete I plan to begin serious Las Vegas tournament play.Right now I'm deeply involved with the NFL Vegas style. If you could go back in time and start all over again on the Internet, what would you do differently?Start earlier, but other than that nothing really. I spent 6 weeks before I played a holdem hand. I read Matthew's books and others, and jumped into the forum. And TV: thank goodness for FOX. A player bets. Then his opponent quickly and without fanfare moves all in. The player, somewhat startled, inquires: "All in?" Player then quickly mucks. DeAgostino did that against Ivey at Turning Stone. I can just see myself in that position—I’m struggling to figure out what to bet, then I bet, and I get raised big time. Time for a fold. Who is your favorite poker player (if you have one)?Doyle first and foremost. I bought SuperSystem way back in 1980—my first poker book. What a read. I only read the stud section about a million times. I should have had Brunson autograph my copy during the last WSOP. Major mistake. Also Chris Ferguson, Eric Seidel, Paul Phillips.
Travel (Alaska cruise planned for next summer), baseball, snow skiing and my biggest interest for sure: just being a Dad.
