Ammon Brown, aka Ammbo
Ammbo, our very own tech geek has dreams of battling me headsup at the Party Poker cruise...what a boost that would be for ITH!
Name Ammon Brown

Age I am 27

Where are you from?
Originally Pennsylvania, moved to Washington State, and now call New York City home.

Are you married? Children?
Married, no children.

What do you do for a living?
I work in online advertising sales, primarily search engine marketing. Poker is a tempting alternative, though!

How long have you been playing Internet poker?
I have only been playing for about 5 months, although I have played intermittantly for years.

What limits do you play?
When I play ring games I usually play 2/4 or 3/6 limits. I have no immediate plans to move up, but I will eventually. I prefer playing SnGs, usually at the $50 or $30 limits.

What is your favorite site and why?
Given the number of hours per day I spend here, do you need to ask? I prefer PartyPoker as they always have available action and rather weak competition. Their customer service has always been excellent as well.

What has been your biggest poker thrill or achievement up to now?
By far my biggest poker thrill has been winning a 750 person tournament to qualify for the PartyPoker Million III on the WPT. If all goes well I will be able to change this answer later this month!

What area of your game are you currently focusing on?
I am currently focusing on disciplining my blind play. I have a huge leak when I see the flop from the blinds and I am trying to tighten up my play there. I am also working on my live game play, especially calculating odds on the fly.

If you could go back in time and start all over again on the Internet, what would you do differently?
I would not have started playing at the site I started at. It was sparsely populated and had a poor rake structure. I would also read up more than I did. I found Matthew's site before I read his book.

What’s your favorite poker saying or phrase?
I have two: "Never gamble with your poker money" and "Raise like you've got a pair!"

Who is your favorite poker player (if you have one)?
Howard Lederer and Layne Flack. Two completely different styles of play and there is a lot I can learn from both. Chris (Jesus) Ferguson, too. I just dig the hat.

What are your other interests outside of poker?
I am a bit of a technology geek. I built my own computer and maintain multiple websites. I also ski, inline skate, and love movies.

Feel free to add anything else you would like to say.
The allure of poker for me is almost entirely academic. I love the fact that it is in essence a game of chance but through study, knowledge, and experience you can gain an edge over your opponents and beat the game. This site has been an invaluable resource for me in improving my game and I cannot do it justice by gushing any further.Look Ammon up in the Poker Forum!
