Semi-retired and playing poker, that's the life!
Name Al Age 53 Where are you from? Boston MA Are you married? Children? Partnered No, but I do have a couple of very immature dogs. What do you do for a living? I'm semi-retired. I do some freelance writing and play poker at least 40 hours per week. How long have you been playing Internet poker? I played for a few months a couple of years ago, then got into it again in earnest in October 2003. What limits do you play? Mostly 5-10. When feeling adventurous, I also play a little 10-20. I hope to work my way up to 15-30 by the end of this year. We'll see how it goes. What is your favorite site and why? Party Poker. Great action 24 hours a day, seven days a week. It's really a kind of gigantic online poker amusement park. What has been your biggest poker thrill or achievement up to now? Although I hope to do much better as time goes by, I have at least proven to myself that I am in fact a winning player. It's a good feeling. Winning players are a distinct minority. What area of your game are you currently focusing on? I'm constantly challenging my basic operating assumptions in an attempt to uncover weaknessess in my game. The forum is immensely helpful in that regard. A great tool. On the forum, it's important to me to not be afraid to show my mistakes, and to admit when I'm wrong about something. If you could go back in time and start all over again on the Internet, what would you do differently? I would adopt tighter starting standards. What’s your favorite poker saying or phrase? I'll have to get back to you on that one. Who is your favorite poker player (if you have one)? Ummm, can I say myself? What are your other interests outside of poker? I'm a runner, golfer, dog person. I also take evening classes in obscure subjects from time to time, like ancient Greek. I also do some volunteer literacy tutoring. Feel free to add anything else you would like to say. I'd just like to say thanks for the chance to spout of about myself a little.Look Al up in the forum! z |
