Aakshay Kripalani Age 22 Where are you from? Bombay, India Are you married? Children? No What do you do for a living? Online advertising. I own zonify.com and we deliver pop-ups (I can feel the hate mail coming), pop-unders, and other online ads. How long have you been playing Internet poker? Around 1 year. First started at PartyPoker, and lost over $450 before I ever started to make money. What limits do you play? I prefer 2/4 and 3/6 Hold Em. If I am in a SNG I will venture anywhere from $10-$30. What is your favorite site and why? I really can't choose a favorite. I like PartyPoker, PokerStars, and ParadisePoker. Party has some of the biggest fish in their PL Omaha tables and 3 table SNGs. PokerStars has great tournament blind structures, and I don't ever feel forced to move quickly in their SNGs. Paradise has some of the softest PL Omaha Hi MTT, and I can usually make a final table there 4/10 times. What has been your biggest poker thrill or achievement up to now? Winning my first MTT tournament. I had placed 2nd 3 times before I ever won a tournament. It was a $10 buy-in PL Omaha Hi tournament at ParadisePoker, with over 150 entrants. When we were heads up I had about a 3:1 chip lead, and ironically enough we went into a 5 minute break as soon as heads up started. During the break I offered a 50-50 chop, as long as he gave me the win. I had never won a tournament before and I really wanted my first win. He said no, and as soon as the tournament resumed I busted him on the first hand. What area of your game are you currently focusing on? I am really trying to get better at Limit Hold Em and SNGs. I am going to start setting goals for myself such as $3,000 in 30 days and hopefully make my goals. Once I feel confident enough in my Limit game and SNG NL game I will set these goals. If you could go back in time and start all over again on the Internet, what would you do differently? I don't think I would change a thing. However, if I was able to go back in time to when the internet was first started I think I would register all the big Fortune 500 company dot coms such as microsoft.com, etc. What’s your favorite poker saying or phrase? I say "OMG" (Oh My God) a lot. Usually after a bad beat. It just shocks me to see them even though I receive them everyday. Who is your favorite poker player (if you have one)? I really love to watch Phil Helmuth play. Many people dislike him because he is a huge crybaby, but I on the other hand enjoy watching his antics and whining at the table. I really feel like it attracts the audience and pulls them in. People love to watch controversy and Helmuth is great at creating it. What are your other interests outside of poker? I love to hang out with my friends and play pool, bowl, or watch movies. I also have a strong love for fast cars. My very first car was a 1998 Corvette, and I was just 17 then.
