Eurolinx Poker Software

Eurolinx uses the MicroGaming [Prima] Poker Network software. They are, however, on the front line of the MicroGaming push to change graphics and user-interface and as such have completely changed the look and feel of their tables as well as adding another main menu look to choose from.

The Eurolinx tables and background are available in a wide range of player-chosen table felts and flooring backgrounds. Players are represented by Player squares which are intended to harbor avatars of the player's choosing. Cardbacks are default black with the Eurolinx "e" logo, but will be changeable in the future. Tables are now resizable and players can still use the default large, medium and mini-view tables There is a 4-color deck option as well as a great note-taking tool with auto-wrapping text and player tags to facilitate quickly recognizing various players around the table. As players fold, their placards fade. New instant hand histories (showing mucked cards at showdown) are now available. Best Hand Display feature helps players by showing them what their hand is on every street. This can be toggled off. There is a new and improved slider bar for NL and PL games, making it easier to get that exact bet in. Players can also select their own seat now. Finally, the huge problem with the pre-action buttons being located in different positions than the industry standard Fold/Check/Raise has been corrected.

Players have three choices in Main Menu look. The classic view of MicroGaming [which started back in the Prima days] is somewhat easy to navigate with one shortcoming: large menus can be split between a multitude of separate screens, making sorting and filtering difficult. The new view has none of these problems and the filters are fantastic, allowing players to sort tables by type, buy-in/stake ranges, tournaments by game type, NL, PL, or FL, regular MTTs, or specials or freerolls. The final main menu takes a bit of getting used to and is set up for the person who isn't into long lists and have a favorite stake or buy-in. Players can quickly get to a game they want through this option, but won't have control of which particular table they will play upon. This makes it counter-productive for players who are adept at table selection.

Eurolinx Poker Traffic

As part of the MicroGaming Poker Network, Eurolinx has established players and traffic that makes it one of the larger sites available to play at. With weekly traffic in the 12-15,00 player range at peak [generally in early European evening] and upward to nearly 20,000 on the weekends, players will find plenty of competition.

Eurolinx Poker Games

Players at Eurolinx have a varied assortment of poker games to choose from, including Texas Hold'em, 7 and 5 Card Stud, Omaha and 5-Card Draw.

Texas Hold'em is available in all forms with 10, 6 and 2 seat formats. Fixed Limit runs the gamut of blinds from $0.05/$0.10 to $150/$300 with most traffic at the $2/$4 and lower limits. PL is offered with buy-ins of PL10 to PL20000, and most traffic is centered around PL100 and lower. NL is available in buy-ins ranging from NL10 to NL40000, but traffic is only existent at NL1000 and below.

Omaha High and Omaha Hi/Lo, though offered in fixed limit and no-limit are most prevalently trafficked on the Pot-limit tables, once again with the majority of play happening on the short-handed tables.

7-Stud and 5-Stud get very little traffic, and usually at the very lowest micro limits. 5-Card Draw is lightly trafficked in the smaller NL and FL buy-ins.

MTTs get a very decent turnout. Players can find many tournaments and structures to suit their taste. Whether those tastes are guaranteed prizepool tournaments, freerolls, turbo tournaments or qualifiers to bigger events, all can be found at Eurolinx.

SnGs are offered with buy-ins as low as $0.90/$0.10 up to and including $1000+$50. Players may play 2, 3, 5, 8 or 10 handed. There are also 15-seat [3 tables of 5], 20-seat [2 tables of 10], and 30-seat [3 tables of 10] SnGs. Eurolinx also offers turbo SnGs, satellite SnGs to the $175K weekly guaranteed tournament and "Rounders" SnGs. These are step tournaments where progressive good showings can land you at the 5th round and the $3,000 first place prize.

Bad Beat Jackpot

Four of a Kind 8's or better is beaten. The loser of the hand receives 50% of the progressive bad beat jackpot, the winner gets 25%, and the remaining 25% is split among the other players in the hand. Both of the winning and losing hands must use both hole cards to qualify.

Stability

In September of 2005, Eurolinx became the first poker site to launch in the new Tain Network. The promise of fast pay-outs, professional customer support, and excellent bonuses proved to be immediately attractive to a large number of serious players. In 2006, Eurolinx was faced with the decision of moving with the rest of the Tain Network to another network, which did not allow American players, or of going to an entirely new network, which was still open to the US. Although most of Eurolinx’s players at the time were European, it was a very easy decision to make. In January of 2007, Eurolinx joined the MicroGaming Network. With the exception of twelve states, Eurolinx remained open for American players.

Eurolinx Poker Customer Service

Eurolinx has two modes of customer service: live chat and email through their website. The live chat function is a better option for quick responses to basic questions. The email service is slow, although players will find the answers knowledgeable and easy to understand. Payouts at Eurolinx is dependent on funding methods used. NETeller is extremely fast while some of the other withdrawal options take some time to clear.

Poker Tracker Compatibility

Eurolinx Poker is supported in Poker Tracker with Holdem, Omaha and Stud cash games, as well as Holdem tournament support. ITH will update this information if Poker Tracker picks up support of Omaha and/or Stud tournaments.

Ability to Multitable

Player are allowed to play as many tables as they choose. However, customer support suggests that players shoul donly play as many tables as their mainframe is able to handle as Eurolinx resource intensive.

Multiple Accounts per Household

The MicroGaming Poker Network rules disallow multiple household accounts for security reasons. Eurolinx therefore does not allow multiple household accounts at this time. Should MicroGaming change this bylaw in the future, ITH will update this information.

Reload Bonus Frequency

In 2006, Eurolinx offered reload bonuses on a monthly basis. In 2007, reloads slowed down in the middle of the year, but went to bottomless in the Fall Blowout and Winter Extravaganza promotions.

Tournaments with Overlays

A tournament overlay is the result of guaranteed prize money that is not offset by the participant's buy-ins. As such, all freerolls and FPP freerolls always offer an overlay.

Players will find that many of Eurolinx' guaranteed tournaments offer overlays throughout the day, with the notable exceptions of the $175,000 and $50,000 Extreme Stack. Players looking for a better prizepool to buy-in ratio don't need to look any further. Eurolinx has them for the adept overlay specialist.

There is a 60 day expiration bonus for the initial deposit bonus. The 8 Bonuses for '08 promotion has no expiration date.

Withdrawal Restrictions

Players can make withdrawals prior to clearing their bonuses. ITH suggests giving a 48 hour grace period and doing some coverplay prior to withdrawing. Players who withdraw without playing will earn a 4% fee on their withdrawals.

Eurolinx is an interesting site. They run a number of unique promotions every year, some solely theirs and others with a select few MicroGaming platforms. They also do not carry an initial deposit bonus, but any player who starts accruing Linxpoints can purchase reload bonuses from $5 to $25,000 in their online store. This is a novel approach to the whole business of bonuses. It takes a lot of Linxpoints to purchase the bigger bonuses, so players either need to grind like crazy on their low limit tables, or play higher limits where the Linxpoints accumulate much faster. As players get better at playing and climb the ranks of poker limits, they open up broader avenues of bonus generation. Tournament players in search of bonuses won't care much for the 10-25% rakeback [25% at the highest bonus reloads.
