EuroPoker Bonus & Review Guide

EuroPoker does not accept players from the United States.

EuroPoker, despite being a decent site to play poker, has a number of drawbacks. The lack of a VIP Program, freerolls which pay their winners in bonus money, a poor rake schedule and no unique promotions make EuroPoker just an average pokersite.

EuroPoker Overview

Click to Enlarge EuroPoker Lobby Lobby - Enlarge   EuroPoker does not accept players from the United States.

EuroPoker is a new addition to the Poker Network family. As part of the third largest online poker platform and sharing tables with Pokerroom [and it's skins], EuroPoker has a wide variety of cashgames, SnGs and Multi-table tournaments. Deposits and withdrawals are on par with the industry norm. As EuroPoker gains more tenure in the marketplace, ITH will update and re-evaluate EuroPoker's ratings and reviews. Bonuses can be cleared at both EuroPoker's cash game tables as well as by playing in multi-table tournaments and SnGs.

EuroPoker Rating Breakdown

(Click for full rating of each of criteria)
EuroPoker Software

Sharing the same software and tables as Pokerroom, EuroPoker is nearly identical to Pokerroom, except the color layout is different. The black background with light blue highlight seems less stressful and busy than their parent site. The card backs are black which might not be the best choice against the dark cyan color of the table felt.

EuroPoker's software has a number of good and bad features. Holdem Poker offers both a web-browser and download version of it's software. If you can bring up a web-browser, you can play at EuroPoker, including via cellphone. EuroPoker [like Pokerroom] is also one of the few online pokersites to support play on Macintosh computers. EuroPoker has a fully interactive environment with a few very nice features. It's player notes feature, which can be tailored to suit your needs, is color-coded. A large text-box gives ample room for player notes. It also has one of the best on-table stat pages in the industry. The ability to turn the avatars off is a plus. EuroPoker table menus provide the important "Players seeing the flop" percentiles to help table selection.

The software is memory intensive. Players likewise need to sit out in order to access the cashiering services to the table. This can lead to missed hands and a failure to reload prior to the next dealt hand. Sitting out, while there is a waiting list at a table, can see a player taken off the table and his seat given to the next player on the waiting list. EuroPoker also has no ability to change the back-color of the cards.

Despite the drawbacks, EuroPoker's software is decent and user-friendly.

World Series of Poker 2008

In the poker world, it doesn't get any bigger or any more glam than the WSOP. And this year is no exception. As usual, EuroPoker will be clocking up the frequent flyer points and heading out to Las Vegas to watch you play in the biggest and sickest poker game of the year - The WSOP 2008 Main Event.

EuroPoker is running tournaments between now and June 7 to get you to Vegas so you can join the rest of Team EuroPoker.com, where you'll be staying for 16 nights in a top hotel with expenses thrown in. The total prize package is worth $17,500 and includes the $10,000 buy-in to the Main Event. All you have to do is win a WSOP Online Final.

Direct buy-in to the weekly Saturday WSOP 2008 Finals at 10:00PM CET is $500+$40. SnG satellites as low as $1+$0.10, or MTT qualifiers as low as $2+$0.20 are running daily.

The Grand

The Grand is always getting Grander. It runs on the last weekend of each month. This is the biggest tournament held on EuroPoker and comes with a guaranteed prize pool of $500,000.

The Grand tournaments take place over three days, making this a completely unique event. The heat system means you can choose which qualifying day is more suitable for you. You choose to compete on the Friday or the Saturday. Then The Grand final is played out on the Sunday.

It starts at 7:00PM GMT on both Friday and Saturday and after 6.5 hours is paused only to regroup on Sunday at 7:00PM GMT. You can buy-in for $1000+$40 or qualify from as little as $1+$0.10 via the many daily qualifiers.

There are two routes to qualify, either through a four stage SnG route or through a four stage scheduled Multi-Table tournament route. Both are "step" type routes with players vying for tickets to the next level, culminating in the final level which sends players to The Grand.

$500,000 Monthly Guarantee

Huge. Enormous. Gargantuan. How about a No-Limit Texas Hold'em tournament - with $500,000 guaranteed. And that's guaranteed to put a smile on any poker player's face. And it's big. Seriously big. It's half a million dollars!

On the 1st Saturday of the Month EuroPoker will be holding the $500,000 Final, where there will be at least $500,000 in the prize pool.

Direct buy-in costs for this 7:00PM GMT monthly tournament is $220+$15, or satellite in for as little as $1+$0.10.

$150,000 Big Deal

Every Sunday at 12:00PM EST, EuroPoker hosts the $150,000 "Big Deal" Tournament. Direct buy-in costs $300+$20, although players can qualify for the tournament for as low as $7+$1.

EuroPoker Customer Service

EuroPoker has no live 24/7 Online Help. They do use an email messaging system built into their "Help" software option. Customer service speed can be as fast as an hour, but unfortunately quality of response is hit and miss.

Also EuroPoker's FAQ system is not as streamlined or helpful as that of Pokerroom.

Tournaments with Overlays

A tournament overlay is the result of guaranteed prize money that is not offset by the participant's buy-ins. As such, all freerolls and Player Point freerolls always offer an overlay.

As EuroPoker is part of the 3rd largest internet poker site [sharing tables with Pokerroom and her skins], very few tournaments will offer an overlay. The best opportunity to find a tournament with an overlay will be during non-peak hours early in the US morning.

Bullajami Discretionary Poker Room Bonus Rating

Piscivorous Discretionary Poker Room Bonus Rating

EuroPoker is an OnGame site. Their initial deposit bonus of 100% up to $100 is standard for most OnGame sites and they are toeing the line with regard to the standard 10 Player Point per dollar OnGame clearance rate. Tournamnet clearance could be better, but most people will generally clear an OnGame bonus by participating in the cash games. Players playing under $1/$2 will find that these bonuses clear extremely poorly, while those at $1/$2 and above will find it somewhat easier. The negative factor is the toughness of the games at EuroPoker at these higher limits and buy-in [if playing NL]. However, clearing this bonus in the allotted 60 days is usually pretty straightforward if the player can put consistent time in to do so.
